From there I went over to Billboard to read further.
I have no horse in this race (or do I? I actually do: on a level you'd not believe...but my attorney has asked that I keep my story to myself, for now) however, the touring industry is something I'm aware of. Scalpers are also something I'm very aware of and find quite distasteful. I'll leave it at that.
I'm interested to see just how far this goes. Perhaps this sums it up nicely...for me, at least:
Proponets of true free market capitalism will be quick to point out that scalpers are simply filling demand and that customers willingly agree to pay more for tickets if they want to attend an event badly enough. But, while that's true, if you live by the free market sometimes you die by it. Right now, the free market is kindly asking the scalpers to eat shit.
